Terms of Use

Last updated 12 August 2026.

By using Propleft you agree to these terms. They are short on purpose.

1. What Propleft is

Propleft displays public property records published by the City of New York. It reports what the City recorded about a parcel of land and the structures on it.

2. What Propleft is not — and how you may not use it

Propleft is not a consumer reporting agency and Propleft is not a consumer report as those terms are defined in the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq., or in any comparable state law.

You may not use Propleft, or any information obtained from it, in whole or in part, as a factor in establishing any individual's eligibility for:

Propleft is not assembled, evaluated or maintained for any of those purposes, and it does not carry the accuracy procedures, dispute process or adverse-action notices that the Fair Credit Reporting Act requires of a consumer report. Using it that way is a breach of these terms and may expose you to liability under federal and state law.

Propleft is designed so that this is difficult to do by accident. The name of a natural person is never displayed. Owner information appears only where the party that receives the tax bill is an entity, such as a limited liability company, corporation or trust. There is no search by a person's name, and no such feature is planned.

3. Accuracy

The information comes from the City of New York and is shown as recorded. Public records contain errors, omissions and delays, and Propleft reproduces them faithfully rather than guessing. Where a figure is missing, Propleft says so instead of showing a zero.

Nothing in Propleft is an appraisal, a title search, a survey, a market valuation, or legal, tax or investment advice. Before acting on anything you see here, verify it against the primary record.

4. No warranty

Propleft is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

5. Subscriptions

Pro is an auto-renewing subscription billed through your Apple account. It renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel it in your Apple account settings. Apple's standard end user licence agreement also applies.

6. Attribution and independence

Data is published by NYC Open Data, the NYC Department of City Planning, the NYC Department of Finance and the NYC Department of Buildings. Propleft is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the City of New York or any of its agencies.
